Client
S.i. Systems has been providing IT and non-IT staff augmentation services to this large telecommunications company with more than 65,000 employees for over 20 years. As their business grew, we leveraged our understanding of the client’s contingent labour program rules of engagement, supporting them nationally with both development and implementation of a consistent staffing delivery model.
Challenge
This telecommunications company was growing quickly, and their continued growth would require contingent staffing assistance if they were to meet their objectives and properly support their internal and external customers. They needed a partner that could help with a realignment of their national recruitment strategy and commitment to stronger service level agreements (SLAs) across Canada. Additionally, the organization had objectives in place to increase transparency, create stronger partnerships, and further improve the client experience.
Solution
S.i. Systems took several steps to help this client achieve their goals. First, we developed a resilient national account team whose mission it was to create stronger partnerships. This included consistent account management, candidate vetting, and the development of technical documentation to aid the team in onboarding candidates into their VMS.
We have also provided a variety of resources to support multiple enterprise-level initiatives, including onsite, remote and bilingual (English-French) technical teams on both application and infrastructure projects. This increased efficiency, automation, reliability, privacy and security.
Projects included PeopleSoft HCM, Hadoop ecosystem, SalesForce CRM, as well as LTE/5G, wireless, broadband, cable, RAN, WAN, LAN, VoIP, and other hardware/software installations, implementations, and upgrades.
We continue to work with our client across Canada, providing local support for each business unit from our offices in the GTHA, Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver, including consultant resources on contract in the following specialties: architecture, cyber security, data & analytics, network & infrastructure, project management, software development, quality assurance, and niche technologies.
Outcomes
We have executed over 2,700 placement transactions, including over 1,400 unique resources deployed. This involved the provision of Contract Staffing, Payrolled (Flo Thru™), and Direct Hire (permanent) professional services. Of the 1,400+ unique resources we have placed, over 34% have had their contracts renewed.
Our relationship with this company has evolved over a short period of time, largely due to our dedication to continuous improvement efforts. In 2015, we became a nation-wide, Tier 2 vendor, prior to which we had been providing resources on smaller contracts.
We then created a national team and strategy in alignment with our client’s SLAs for the program. In 2016, we became a Tier 1 vendor, after which there was a 250% increase in client requests and onboards. Through consistent management and practices, S.i. Systems has grown to be one of five authorized IT and non-IT staffing vendors for this company across Canada. Since 2018, we have been ranked a #1 vendor multiple times by our client, based on quarterly business reviews.
